HISTORY
Created in the 1st century BC by the Romans, Gaillac is one of the oldest established vineyards in France. It is situated on the banks of the Tarn river in a region steeped in history and famous for its exceptional Heritage sites: Albi (UNESCO), Cordes sur Ciel, and also close to the ‘pink city’ of Toulouse and the medieval city of Carcassonne (UNESCO).

The origins of Labastide make it the oldest established wine cellar in the Tarn.
Since its creation in 1949, its vine growers have worked to produce wines of quality, and have always been forward looking. With innovation as the key word from the beginning, the cave distinguished itself in 1957 with the creation of Gaillac Perlé – a wine which has largely contributed to the fame and reputation of the Cave and its vineyards.
Today, Labastide is the largest wine-making cave in the Tarn.
Continued efforts to improve the quality of its products have brought tangible results. It was the very first business in Midi Pyrenees to have obtained, in 2002, the double certification ISO 9002 and AgriConfiance
