Imagine
the Central Massif and the Aquitaine Basin, separated by the
Tarn, turned towards
the West in the form of an amphitheatre and descending by successive
stepped terraces down to the Albigeois Gulf... You find yourself
at the north of the Gulf amid a variety of geological formations:
plateaus and terraces on both banks reaching a height of 200
- 300 m. Before you extend the Tarn and its tributaries, whose
sediments come to enrich the Gaillac wine region. For centuries,
these wine-growing sites have been undergoing tectonic shifts,
and erosion by wind and surface water.
Welcome to the cradle of our grapevines! |
